Freaky’s Best of 2011 live verson
I have to split my yearly tradition of listing favorite matches I’ve seen live this year, because
I’ve seen so many good matches this year. Here’s part 1…
January 23 WWE Raw Covelli Centre This show was a great way to start off my year in wrestling. My buddy Ted from Akron came down for the show, we snuck into great seats after intermission, & a good time has had by all. When I think back upon that show three matches come to mind……
FATAL FOUR WAY MATCH FOR THE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP
Daniel Bryan (Champion) vs. William Regal vs. Tyson Kidd vs. Ted DiBiase
This was originally advertised as a singles match between Bryan & DiBiase. When the show started when found out it was a four way. Tyson had been shooting for a U.S. tittle shot so I had a feeling he’b be thrown in the mix. It was obvious Bryan & Regal had a good relationship when they worked together. It looked like they were having a blast together in the ring. It was a solid opener for the show but I was just so thrilled to see a wrestler a I was such a big fan of on the indies as a champ in WWE live.
King Sheamus vs. John Morrison
These two busted their asses! They gave a PPV worthy effort. Ted & I both couldn’t believe they were doing so much on a house show
John Cena vs. CM Punk
My god was Cena over! This match made me wonder why people say Cena can’t work. A funny moment during the match came when
Ted & I looked at each other & simultaneously I asked if Punk was blown up while Ted asked if Cena was blown up.
Ring of Honor 2-26-11 Dayton, Ohio
World’s Greatest is the DVD tittle of this event & it is not hype! It’s a shame ROH doesn’t get more love on the show because I think they are the everything guys like Mad Mike & Wrestlefan love about TNA (talented, young, athletic wrestlers that are allowed to wrestle) with none of what they hate (The list is to long to type).
Non-Title Challenge Match: ROH World Television Champion “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels vs. Michael Elgin
I went to this ROH show with someone who really didn’t know much about ROH. He’s a huge Daniels fan & this was my first opportunity to see Elgin who I’ve been a fan of for years now. That dynamic made this match-up of two work horses incredibly fun for us to watch & interact with.
Survival of the Fittest 2010 Finale Re-Match
Eddie Edwards vs. “Pretty Boy Pitbull” Kenny King
Davey Richards and WGTT: Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas vs. ROH World Champion Roderick Strong w/ Truth Martini and ROH World Tag Team Champions The Kings of Wrestling: “That Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli w/ Shane Hagadorn
When I think of Eddie vs. King & the 6 Man Tag What I remember the most isn’t a move or sequence of them, It’s more like a way of moving that engrossed me. I think those matches are just one example of why those guys should be the future of wrestling. They had this aura during the matches that just completely transfixed the crowd.
TNA Impact Wrestling @ the Agora 4-8-11
I’ll stop here but I will leave you with a little look at TNA’s return to Cleveland….. Cheerio
traci brooks vs madison rayne 4/8/11
beer money vs gunner & murphy 4/8/11
